HELP!

I own a 2002 Volkswagen Passat with a 1.8L turbo 4. I'm trying to change the alternator, and i've got the bolts holding it in loose and the top one out, but I can't get the bottom bolt out, the fan is in the way, and I cant figure out how to get the bolt out and there is no way to remove the fan. PLEASE HELP!

Ok you can take the fan blades off by removing the 4 5mm alan bolts holding it on, if that doesnt work right behing the blades there is a big nut, u have to hold the pulley and loosen the nut and the whole will come off. Remember the nut is reverse thread so turn it to the right to loosen and left to tighten. Good luck hope this is helpful
