diagnostic code

Trying to get some info for computer code P1128. I have a 1999 Volkswagen Beetle, 63000 miles,2.0 4 cyl. eng. The car runs great. The light will reset for a couple days then return. My diagnostic tool reads factory code P1128 fuel air metering,has anyone delt with this code? Thank-you

Hey swampman
P1128 refers to a "lean fuel trim condition" sounds like there may be a vacuum leak or secondary AIR system fault. Both can cause a lean condition over time. I would go right to checking for vacuum leaks first! Let us know!!

Many of factors can come into play. You may have a bad gas cap on your vehicle and it may be affecting the system through the evaporative emmissions.... This appears to be a common problem on these type of systems.
