Alternator Problem?

I have a VW Passat 2001 -old body style with 90K miles on it. Started to get BAT/ALTERNATOR light on intermittently with ALternator warning After two days of ignoring it the following happened
- ABS light came on
- Followd by passenger airbag
- Radio Switched Off
- Car kept running but DISPLAY dimmed away on the dash.
- Car lost engine power - was not able accelerate

I was able to pull the car into parking lot but not before teh power steering had stopped as well.

Seems like alternator just died. Do the symptoms add up to that. Is any other demage likely to have happned?

Yes sounds about accurate. Your car was running strictly on the battery and that gave out without the alternator working correctly. Check the alternator belt to make sure there is one and it is in good shape if it needs to be replaced take out the alternator and have it tested pick up a new belt also just to start out fresh.
