2006 VW Passat 2.0T 18000 miles

We are in the middle of rainy season. Thus, we have had a lot of rain. I found out late last night that my trunk bed is wet. Today when trying to dry it up, I looked at the spare and it is filled with water. The top and sides of the trunk are dry and I am taking it to the dealer tomorrow.

Any ideas? Is there anything I should expect from the dealer or anything that I should push the issue on?

Question II, I have been reading about sludge build up in the VW engines. How often should I have the oil changed on this car and should I use top grade fuel?

Dou you have a sunroof? The drains might be clogged.

No, I don't have a sunroof and I didn't leave the trunk open and the seal appears to be all intact without holes surrounding the trunk lid.
