2003 VW Jetta Wolfsburg Edition, 1.8 Turbo, Auto Trans, 61,000 Mi. My son's Jetta was overheating so he took it to the dealer to have it diagnosed. They determined that the low speed was bad on the radiator fans. I changed the fans, but it still overheated, I then changed the thermostat, with no luck. I bit the bullet and changed the water pump, which had a slipping impeller, and the timing belt while I was at it. The car now runs OK, but has code P0340 (Camshaft Position Sensor (A) Circ Incorrect Allocation) and P0118 (Engine Coolant Temp Circ High Input). What is causing these codes and what do I have to do to correct them?

The coolant sensor code is from it overheating, clear it and it should stay away unless it overheats again. The cam code is most likely from the cam timing being off a tooth. The PCM sees the cam and crank turning and if they are out of synch, will set a code
