Temp gauge running cool if heat is turned on and at speeds over 40 mph. Water pump and thermostat have never been replaced. Radiator has been flushed once in 6 yrs.

Sounds like the thermostat could be stuck part way open.Now would be a great time for a cooling system service. Depending on where you are from the weather is going to be changing
