My windshield wipers stay on after the key is removed from the ignition and the wiper fuse is removed. It will only stop if I push in the button that turns on the Air Conditioning. Also, my brake light has been coming on over the past week, but the fluid is not low and there are no apparent leaks. Any suggestions for what might be causing these problems and a range of cost for repair?

Thanks!

Calysta:

Not to be a wiseguy, but it sounds like typical VW electrical/mechanical issue. I've had similar problems w/95 Jetta, incl. trunk latch, cruise control, window regulator, & other simply show up, & often disappear on their own. I replaced the turn signal lever (on steering column), & all was well for about 2 mos. Now, problem w/cc is back.

Oh, yeah, the turn signal arm also houses cc & wiper control. In case you have further info, I'd appreciate knowing.
