1995 Other Volkswagen Models leaking front axle

is there a seal that is inside the axle thats leaking if so would it be wise to just replace the axle because of the amount of mileage. What should the estimated cost to replace both front axles be?

what seal?

cv boot? if its leaking you should replace it, if your talking insdie transmission you wont have to replace the shaft.

cost about 300 bucks parts and labor to replace them both.
