1988 Volkswagen idling when hot

Hey guys
when I start my motor when its hot it starts up fine but cuts off(doesnt idle). But if I rev it to like 6000 rpm after I start it then it idles normal. Any idea whats the problem?(When its cold it starts and idles fine)

Sounds like a issue wiht a sort of vapor lock.

Try draining out fuel pressure when turning off vehicle each time then next time before starter try to start it, does it run without the rev?
