2004 Volkswagen Jetta Temperature Gauge

The temperature gauge goes in to the red. Replaced the engine temp cooling sensor and thermostat. Analyzer says no codes found PASS. All fuses are fine. What should I check next?

With no codes coming up it is a good sign of a mechanical failure, i.e. water pump, heater core. Check coolant level to ensure it is not leaking anywhere. If it is good, watch the radiator fan(s) to ensure they come on. When engine is at operating temp. grab a radiator hose and squeeze, if you can't feel coolant being pushed through than there is a flow issue. Could be faulty water pump or a clog in radiator, lines, heater core..
