2003 Volkswagen Jetta 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Manual 91K miles

I am unable to open the trunk. The key does not work when placed in the lock. I am unable to use the switch inside the car. The button on the remote key does not work. Can you help me diagnose and troubleshoot this problem. Thanks

You may have a brocken latch inside your trunk,go inside your trunk trough your back seats ,open it manually,once open replace the broken latch,you need to remove inside trunk lid cover to do it....
