2002 Volkswagen Jetta 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

My front left suspension makes a clunking, grinding noise when I turn the steering wheel. Any idea what that might be?

Check the cv halvshaft for the clunking noise and try the strut bearings and bushings for the other noise they are known to go on those cars!
