My Malfunction Indicator Light came on while I was driving, and the dealer did a diagnostics test. They found the cat converter should be replaced, along with the timing belt, secondary air pump mounts, and my fluids flushed. The dealer said that I can drive it, but it's just a matter of time before the car breaks down because of the converter. We had the timing belt replaced at the 80,000 mile mark, so I'm not sure if that needs to be replaced again..What are some of my options as far as getting my car serviced? The dealership is the most expensive, and I would like to find alternatives that are in my price range. And is my car still reliable to drive short distances?
