Transmission problem
2001 Volkswagen Jetta 6 cyl Automatic 89.000 miles

I have a 2001 v6 Jetta. I have had it for about a month and it just started acting up a couple weeks ago. I took it in to a vw specialist and they said the prolem was my trans fluid was too full so they flushed it and put new fluid in. Well a couple days later it started acting up again. When I get going about 50mph my rpm's will go clear up to 4 and stay there till I hit around 20mph then my rmp's wil drop to 2. It seems to that it doesnt want to shift. I told the specialist this and they said nothing is wrong. What is wrong? How can I fix it?

Im having the same problem. If you happen to figure it out lemme know, Ill do the same. There is 3 different sensors, you might try one. Speedometer transmitter sensor, AT speedometer sensor, and oxygen sensor. Good luck!

I took it to a vw specialist and sfter they did a tranmission flush for 200 they relized that wasnt the problem, they told me that there is a peice in the tranny that is broke, like a cover for some wires so it screwed up the wires and thats y it wont shift. It cost me 500$ to fix it and it runs really good. So I would take it in and have them check in the tranny for pieces broken or wires fried. If that doesnt fix it they told me I would haave to replace the tranny for around 1200$
