tranny will not go in drive but it will move a little bit in reverse but make a loud nocking noise when in reverse gear

I feel that the transmission has suffered some form a serious mechanical damage, do not attempt to drive as this may do further damage, get it towed into a work shop for a full diagnostic inspection.

Depending on if it is an early or later series, Mitchell 1 has a price of between $3200-$3800
Before committing your self have your transmission fully tested first.
