1999 Volkswagen Jetta OIL PRESSURE LIGHT

I need to know what the oil pressure sensor looks like and exactly where it is located and if it is defective would it cause my oil light to flash and beep?

The oil pressure switch is located on the oil filter flange

Check the oil pressure with a mechanical gauge, if normal replace the oil pressure switch. If abnormal could mean oil pump and engine bearing.
