In 2nd, 3rd and 4th the clutch does not engage prorely. What is the problem. Why does the spring not release all the way

What do you mean the spring doesnt release all of the way? does the pedal stay on the floor? or does the engine rev up and the car not go anywhere? How many miles are on the clutch/car?
