1998 Volkswagen Jetta 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Manual

my timing belt came off without me notice it I start the car and it did not turn on so I try to start it again someone tell me that I may cause damage to the heads and probably the valves are bent it's true?

i find out the tensioner came off the bracket causing the time belt to not run s I just want to know if I can just call my mechanic to put the car on time again or if the damage is irreverseable and I have to replace the motor please advise please and thank you

Your vehicle does have an interference engine which means that when the timing belt fails during motor operation, the valves will clash with the pistons and do serious internal engine damage. If you just cranked it a few times then there may or may not be damage to your engine. The only way to tell for sure is to disassemble the engine and inspect it.
