1998 Volkswagen Jetta my blinkers arnt working

i just bought a 1998 jetta k2 edition and now my blinkers dont signal on my dashboard or on my back blinkers or front blinkers. there is no signal or sound when i try to use my blinkers. can anybody help me with this?

first check the fuse for the turn signals and the flasher relay unit. are the hazard lights working?

since the hazards are not working either than it is most likely a faulty flasher relay unit
