I changed the timing belt in my car because the one in it went bad. The car was at a dead stop when it went so I don't think any valves got deamaged.I put the cam gear=number one piston =roder all at tdc and installed the new belt. The car runs great for first two-three miles then some loss of power and some bogging down. This happend before but I changed the plugs roter and cap and it ran fine untill the belt went.

Sounds like you missed it by one tooth.

If you want to do it right move the tooth on the camshaft in one directio n and if that makes it worse move it 2 teath in the opposite direction

If you have a distributor you might be able to adjust it for some improvement - don't expect miracles though.
