if I have the new rack would it make more sense for me to replace the rack and pinion or pay a shop to do it?

This is about a 4 Hr job with a hoist for good access, and it is messy, it's up to you, but i think that if you don't have access to a hoist it will take you a lot longer and a mechanic may be the best option.
