I installed a starter simple 2 bolts starter doesnot engage every time everything appears ok fly wheel etc. I dont know if it needs shimmed or bolt holes should be filed out alittle biggeror what need help girlfriends car thankyou

Did you install a new starter or a used one? Did you stick your head in the whole with a flashlight and examined the teeth on the flywheel? Try this test, taken 19 mm socket, put it on the crank turn the engine about 1/4 of return and try to engage the starter, if it works the flywheel is no good.
