Computer problem
1995 Volkswagen Jetta 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

I own a 1995 VW Jetta GLS and was looking forward to use it as a beginner in mechanical work but after having the car for a couple months the engine locked up so I purchased another engine 2.0l and had it put in and then the car did not want to turn on and I had a friend who is a mechanic tell me I needed a new computer so i bought one and installed it and the car turned on but then burned that computer as well what could be the problem?
