2002 Volkswagen GTI misfiring!

my 2002 vw gti 1.8t while accelerating the enigine will sputter and rattle not allowing the car to successfully gain speed engine light flashes any time there is more than very light pressure applied to the gas...coil was replaced and temporarily fixed the problem for about two weeks any ideas on the problem?

Have the computer scanned for code/s-you have a problem within the engine management system that caused the CEL to turn on-This is your starting point of diagnosis,finding out what's going on.
