1997 Volkswagen Golf 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Manual

there is a popping sound when i turn right. it only happens when i turn right and hit a bump.

Sounds like you have one or more CV joints going bad. It is better to have them replaced sooner than later because complete failure will disable the car and possibly be dangerous.
