Engine Performance problem

My car is smoking, the mechanic bypassed the pipe tha goes to the carburator to under the car because the car is burning oil and spuking oil through that pipe. He did this because instead of the fumes coming out of that pipe, oil drops are also dripping out of there and will damage the carburator the whole car.it uses a lot of oil.
