hi im trying to fit a cambelt for a 1.3 mk2 golf but the pulley marks will not line up..as soon as i tighten it they move..ive tryed putting it one tooth back+forward but dtill dont line up..its out about 5mm + i had the head skimed?..

Make sure you have the correct belt and routing.

Normal machine work should not make a noticeable difference belt alignment.
