I bought this car used last October. The automatic door locks didn't work at the time and the dealer sold me a warranty and said that would cover the costs of repair. I took the car to pep boys and the repairs after warranty coverage, cost 900. They had to replace the lock mechanism and an electrical control mechanism to make everything work again. I opted not to replace a mechanism in the trunk that allowed the remote key to open and close the door due to cost.

Today, I went to open the car and the key just kept turning, the windows went down, and won't go back up. I can't lock the car or raise the windows. The electrical controls again are shot. Seems like the exact same issue as before with defect in the part they replaced. What should I do?

Hi there,

Thank you for the donation.

I would go back to the repairer and state your concerns that the problem is still there, there should be a warranty on any defective components, but if the problem is exactly the same as before, I feel that they have missed something, I would like to know what components were replaced and I will see if I can find a schematic on this and look for a possible problem, the issue I will have is that often you need to be hands on with electrical problems and testing is the only way to really nail it down, see how you get on with contacting the repairer, and if you have no luck re post and I will see what I can come up with for you.
