Engine Cooling problem
2002 Volkswagen Beetle 4 cyl 64,000 miles

My check engine light came on in April and I took it to the shop. The mechanics told me it was an engine cooling problem. I spent close to $400 to get the engine "coolant" fixed. About a month ago my temperature gauge started blinking. I took it back to the shop and today they are telling me that my gaskets are leaking and it's because there was a problem with the oil coolant. Is this something that should have been fixed the first time in April? It's a lot of money to spend within 4 months and it sounds like a similar problem.
Thanks!

Do you mean oil or coolant. Or is there oil in the coolant? What codes are there? What light was blinking? Just by chance was it a red light or blue light?

If the red light is one it is because it was overheating. What did they replace last time the car was in and what are they saying it needs now?
