1998 Volkswagen Beetle Dead Battery Can't Open doors

Hi,

Battery died completely, I can't open doors or hood.

I tried manually with the key, the drivers door lock turns but locks don't pop up, I guess its electrical so no luck.

Passenger door or back hatch the key won't turn.

?? any Ideas before I call the local carjacker ;)

If you can get to the starter you can charge the battery thru there.
