Hi Guy's- Hope you can help, I have a 1974 vw Bug, 1600, man. Trans.I have a problem with the starter staying engaged, after the eng. Starts.I've installed a new starter and (checked the clearance between the starter gear and flywheel seems to be okay) I installed a new ing.(Two switch's) switch and a starter relay kit( yellow wire to ground, black wire to the small post on starter, red wire thur a fuse to the large post of the starter, and blue wire to the red/blk wire on ing. Switch) hit the key and starter stay engaged. I'm there something I'm missing? Any idea's. Thanks

Hi there,

If you still have voltage to the starter solinoid wire, you may have a faulty ignition switch, you should only have voltage at the solinoid on crank.
