1974 Volkswagen Beetle Removing Drum Face

Ive Purchased New Springs and new shoes but im having trouble removing the drum face because of the massive bolt holding the drum face in place.....how does the Bolt come off?

Hi there,

If the car is still drivable take it to a tyre service and ask then to loosen the nuts and just nip them up again and re fit the split pin so it will be safe to drive home to do your repairs.
