1973 Volkswagen Beetle Automatic 180000 miles

my car's been sitting in the parking lot for awhile now due to bad carburator and generator. thats not the problem. i went to try and start it today and nothing happened. no sounds, nothing. what can i do?

Get the battery tested and also have the electrical checked out for a short circuit that might be draining out the battery-

Also could be a problem with the ignition switch/transmission park/neutral position switch/starter relay and starter itself-
