My Volkswagon Beetle has been running fine. I just bought it about a month ago. For the past few days the car has been been acting as if it is going to stall when I am at a light but it still will cut back on. The oil light has been coming on. How do I change the oil.

Remove the 17mm plug in the center of the round plate on the bottom of the engine. You can also remove the 10mm nuts around the cover plate to clean the oil screen.

If you've got an oil light coming on while driving, you need to find the cause before serious engine damage occurs.

If the light comes on when the engine is at a really low idle or is about to cut out that is normal and it should go out when the engine speed is increased. If it just comes in and stays on then you should check and see if you have enough oil in the engine, changing the oil in the older engines more often than newer cars is a good I idea as they have no oil filters.

I hope I helped you in some way.
