1971 Volkswagen Beetle Two Wheel Drive Manual

battery dies after being parked for a few days. had battery tested, checks out fine. talked to local mechanic,he said must convert from generator to alternator.but would this cause battery to die while just parked?i cant see paying the $450 to change something that should only help the car when driving. thanks bob

Hi there,

Did they do a battery load test a nd a current draw test? find out and post here for further assistance.
