Should an ingnition coil get so hot that you cannot touch it - as hot as the exhaust?

What causes should I check. Is there a resistor in the wiring to the coil that I may need.

Thanks.

Hi there,

Coils do get hot, but not that hot.... it may have an internal short,if there was an external short with the ignition the ignition would not work, change the coil and i think that will solve your problem.
