Electrical problem
1968 Volkswagen Beetle 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Manual

1968 VW Bug. When i try to fire up the bug it starts for a second and when i release the key it dies..like there is no juice going to the coil after the key is released. I had the starter switch replaced a few months ago and the problem was solved. Now I am having the same issue again. I have only driven the bug twice inbetween the visit to the mechanic and now. What could the issue be?

Hi there,

you can easily check the power to the coil with a test light, there should be constant battery voltage at the Pos terminal with the ignition on, start here.
