I have a 1600 vw engine, I'm having one rocker arm that keeps going out of adjustment. I check rocker and adjustment screw and nut, they are fine. It’s there some thing internal going on. I’ve been a bug owner for 34 years and never had a problem like this

loosen the nut, then back the screw out, look at it to see it the threads are worn. It probably be better to take the arm off. It would be easier than trying to see if the threads are bad on the screw or rocker. Other than that, with everything tight and the lock nut tight I can't think of anything.

Check for a loose cyl head, compare valve spring heights[possible loose valve seat].Almost all after market adjuster screws are too soft and cause excessive clearance soon after adjustment.
