can a seal/gasket be used to fix an air leak where the intake manifold and head meets? I can't get it to idle smoothly and suspect an air leak.

Hi there,

There should be a tin type gasket fitted, to prove a leak, listen around the seal with a length of hose , use it as a stethoscope , you will hear the leak.
