Is the idle speed properly set? Have you checked for vacuum leaks on the engine? When was the last tune up?

I had the car serviced two weeks ago. the mechanic there told me that it could be because of the pressure regulating valve leaking. i am not sure about the idle speed.

Is he referring to the fuel pressure regulator? If so, that can cause it.
