Hi,
First, this vehicle isn't offered in the US, so I have very little info on it. However, I will try my best to help.
Since it smells like it is running rich, the first thing I would check is fuel pressure. If it is high, that can be an issue.
Here is a link that explains how in general it is done:
https://www.2carpros.com/articles/how-to-check-fuel-system-pressure-and-regulator
In the link, it also explains how to check the fuel pressure regulator. Oftentimes, the regulator is controlled by an engine vacuum. If it has failed, it can draw raw fuel directly into the intake and cause the rich mixture as well.
Let me know what you find or if you have other questions.
Take care,
Joe
