On start up idle jumps very high. When in gear remains elevated.

I would make sure there is not a floor mat holding the accelerator pedal down, next there is a large vacuum hose going to the PCV valve which is in the valve cover. If that is okay, I would swap out the IAC motor, here is the location so you can check it out. Also, please go over this guide:
