I have this knock coming from what seems to be the engine. Took it to several mechanics and they each think it's something different. First guy thought it was a rod knock, however I have been driving the vehicle for a month and it drives fine. Another guy thought it was the pulley, because when you turn on the AC during idle, the knock is gone. You can however hear it when rev the engine. Another guy says it might be the lifters because the knocking is not rough enough to be a rod. He also disconnected this plug and knocking went away completely somehow. I have a video of it, if you would like to see.

Put a link to the video on. Hearing it can make a big difference sometimes.
Rod knock will not really effect how it drives, it just makes a bunch of noise until it fails and you replace the engine.

If you think it is the AC pulley an easy test would be to remove the drive belt off the front of the engine and start it. If the knock is related to a bad accessory or idler bearing it would be gone. If it still knocks it isn't one of those.

The 4.7 is known for having rocker arm and valve issues just like its 3.7 V6 brother.
