Vent tube for gas tank.

I had trouble fueling up but I washed out the the tube right under the fuel tank fill up. The vent hose is just hanging there not clipped into anything. I wondering if I am missing a part to clip into. thanks.

That is most likely an overflow hose and yes, it is supposed to be attached to the tank itself.
