Changed the battery and the starter with a built-in solenoid. Checked fuses are all good. When trying to start the vehicle with the key nothing happens except the lighting will come on. Disconnected the ignition pigtail in the steering column and jumped the wires and the vehicle started. Do I change the ignition switch or the entire ignition? No issues with key turning in the ignition.

Hello,

It sounds like the issue is with the ignition switch. Unless the lock cylinder is not making connection all the way to the switch, when the key gets turned.

I have attached diagrams below for your reference.

Please let me know if you have any questions.
Thank you.
