Vehicle shuts off after acceleration?

Vehicle will shut off after acceleration. no check engine light or codes in scanner. car will start but if you accelerate it will shutoff.

Hi,

Start by checking the fuel pump pressure. If it is weak, this can happen. Also, it may not cause the check engine light to turn on because the computer may simply think it ran out of fuel.

Here is a link that explains in general how to test fuel pump pressure. You will need a fuel pressure gauge, but most parts stores will lend one to you.

If you look below, I attached the manufacturer's fuel pressure specifications.

Let me know what you find. Also, let me know if there is any smoke from the exhaust or odd odors you noticed.
