Vehicle stalling code P0300

Vehicle stalls/shuts off when coming to a stop. Code is P0300 has back fired once.

Good evening.

I would check the fuel pressure. You may have a bad fuel pump.

Also, you may be losing spark as well.

Check the fuel pressure first. There is an access port on the fuel rail back by the distributor. You can rent a tester at a parts store if you do not have one.

The check engine light is now flashing on and off. It is not staying on just flashing on then off.

That indicates a misfire in one or more cylinders. It could be plugs, wires, cap or rotor.

How long since a good tune up?

I would start by checking the plugs and all filters. It could be basic ignition issues such as plugs, wires, cap and rotor.
