Vehicle shutting off when coming to a stop

I just got my car oil changed yesterday. Since then, when coming to a stop light, the vehicle shakes (like the engine is puttering), and then turns off. When it turns off, the battery light and the automatic eco start/stop light comes on, with a notice telling me to put my vehicle in park and restart it. When I do, there is no trouble starting up again, though there is usually some more puttering once starting to drive again. This has happened a total of about five times within the past 24 hours.

Checked the battery cables; they are perfectly fine.
Checked the oil level and color (because it started post oil change), and it appears to be fine.
I have not yet run a diagnostic on it as I don't have the equipment.

A friend, without physically seeing the vehicle, suggested an issue with the alternator maybe? Any help is appreciated! Thank you.

Hi,

If this happened since an oil change, I suspect the technician left an engine vacuum hose disconnected or the airbox/inlet tube is not fully seated.

Here is a link that explains how to locate and repair leaks:

Before you jump into the test, make sure they didn't leave a vacuum hose off or loose at the air filter box. See pic 1 below. I suspect they checked the air filter and it's easy to have a hose become loose, disconnected, or even broken.

Let me know what you find. Also, this isn't an issue with the alternator and if the check engine light isn't staying on when the engine is running, there won't be codes. If it is staying on, then scan the computer. Most parts stores will do it free of charge.

Let me know what you find, if you have other questions, and what I can do to help.

Take care,

Joe
