Vehicle overheats when in park

Will cook back down when in drive. What would cause this?

Is the engine cooling fan working drawing air through the radiator?

Yes the fan rotates freely when car is off with no key in ignition. When car is started the fan does run.

If t is not turning fast enough, it will cause this. It is a fan clutch that may be worn out and not locking in to pull through the air.
