Vehicle does not move right away when shifted to drive and accelerator floored?

We tried to check the level and condition of the transmission fluid. Seems that there is no visible dipstick and there is a slight dent on the transmission base pan. Guidance please.

The dent on the transmission pan could be causing the problem because it will block the filter from picking up fluid, this generic guide can help you as well:

The transmission should have a plug in the side of the case which can be filled much like a manual transmission would. Please let me know what you find.
